Why does W3 Total Cache not seem to be speeding up my website

W3 Total Cache is not guaranteed to increase the load time of a website because it is subject to numerous factors. Adding complex contentUser-added image to your site will prevent you from gaining the full benefits of W3 Total Cache. Some examples of complex content include:

  • Calendar plugins (has to calculate date and time)
  • Plugins that randomly suggest posts (has to calculate which posts are suggested)
  • AJAX heavy content (AJAX loads and displays new website content without reloading the page)
  • Code that generates certain MySQL queries that are impossible to cache (such as modifying a customer's profile)

The simpler your website is, the more benefit it will receive from W3 Total Cache.

Important: W3 Total Cache will not work while the default permalink settings are used.
